I first met Debbie Rainford (Marlin) at the Presbyterian church in Lake Village. We were the only girls in the grade two Sunday school class and the boys were very rowdy. This made us both anxious. We always choose to sit together. Each week either Debbie or I would be asked to go to the next classroom to get the current Sunday school lesson. This was hard for Debbie because she was just growing into her adult teeth she had a lisp. On that day there happen to be seven of us in the classroom. When she asked the teacher in the next room for seven Sunday school papers the kids laughed at her speach. She came back to our classroom with no lessons and big tears in her eyes. She could hardly breath. She bent her head close to mine and asked if I would go get them. I was very impressed by her loyality of her job and felt honored that she trusted me enough to ask for help.. After that day, we became good friends. Debbie was a sweetheart.
