Debbra Lynn Marlin, 59, of Rensselaer, passed away Thursday morning, December 22, 2016 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East after an extended illness. She was born in Gary on January 31, 1957, the daughter of the late Chester Rainford, Jr. and Mary Lou (Shelhart) Rainford. She graduated from North Newton High School with the class of 1975. On July 1, 1978, in Rensselaer, she married her husband of 38 years, Ron Marlin.

Debbie was the co-owner and operator of Marlin’s Messenger Service for over 25 years, servicing the hospital in Rensselaer. She was a member of Faith Christian Tabernacle. She was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed collecting knick-knacks and candles.

Debbie is survived by: her loving husband, Ron Marlin, Sr. of Rensselaer; two sons, Ron Marlin, Jr. and Trevor Douglas Marlin, both of Rensselaer; and two brothers, Dennis (Leona) Rainford of Lake Village and Danny Rainford of Las Vegas, Nevada. She was preceded in death by: her parents; and one brother, Doug Rainford.

Visitation will be Monday, December 26, 2016 from 9-11 a.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 26, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer with Dr. James W. Blanchard officiating. Memorials are suggested to the family.
