Edwin James Reed, Jr., 43, of Remington, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 at his home. He was born in Rensselaer on July 15, 1973. He attended school at North White and West Central. He played football and ran track in high school. On March 30, 2016, in Medaryville, he married Mary R. (Edwards) Reed.

Eddie enjoyed watching NASCAR, dancing, singing, drawing, and working on cars. He was a loving husband, son, and uncle. He will be remembered for having a very warm heart.

Eddie is survived by his loving family: wife Mary R. Reed of Remington; mother Edna Lou Ann Cooper and step-father Albert Cooper of Mt. Ayr; two daughters, Heaven’Lee Beckner of Russell Springs, Kentucky and Rebecca Becher of Florida; one son, Daniel Minix of Remington; one granddaughter, Ella Becher of Florida; one brother, Bryan D. Carter; one sister, Donna “Missy” Marie (Luttrell) Stiltz; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 3-7 p.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 11 a.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer with Rev. Brent Smith officiating.
