Obituary for Jerry Clay Baize Jr.

Jerry Clay  Baize Jr.
Jerry Clay Baize, Jr., 43, of Rensselaer, passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning, January 18, 2016 at IU Health White Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on June 12, 1972, the son of Jerry Clay Baize, Sr. and Clara “Libby” Elizabeth (Graham) Baize.

Jerry had been a resident of Rensselaer since 1997. He recently began working at Magnetation in Reynolds. He previously had worked for the physical plant at St. Joseph’s College, and at Sealy Spring in Rensselaer. Jerry was a big St. Louis Cardinals fan. He enjoyed mowing and working in his yard. He also enjoyed fishing, traveling, reading and researching history, and he loved his bulldog, Brutus. Jerry will be remembered as a hard-working, caring, kind-hearted man who enjoyed helping others.

On June 26, 1993, in Lowell, Jerry married Linette (Stahl) Baize. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children: Cassie Rice (husband: Lake), Nathan Baize and Kaitlyn Baize; one grandson, Dawson; his parents, Jerry Baize, Sr. and Libby Baize; one sister, Tina Baize; and his mother-in-law, Shirley Martin.

Visitation will be Friday, January 22, 2016 from 3-7 p.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer with Pastor Clifford Rice officiating.
