Obituary for Sarah Jane Halleck (Carman)

Sarah Jane  Halleck (Carman)
Sarah Jane Halleck, 94, of Baltimore, MD, formerly of Pompano Beach, FL, West Lafayette, IN and Rensselaer, IN, passed away December 8, 2016 in Westminster, MD. She was born in rural Wisconsin on January 11, 1922, the daughter of Jack Carman and Opal (Sigman) Carman.

She graduated from Rensselaer High School with the Class of 1941. In December of 1948, in Rensselaer, she married Roland Delos Halleck. He preceded her in death on June 10, 1984. She was a member of the Disciples of Christ. Sarah was a homemaker who enjoyed antiques and playing bridge.

She is survived by her three children: Beverly (Rick) Carriker of Baltimore, MD, Craig (Gayle) Halleck of Plainfield, IN, and Richard (Fedra) Halleck of Coral Springs, FL; one sister, Betty Isaacson of Manteno, IL; one brother, Robert Carman of Punta Gorda, FL; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Jack and Opal Carman; her husband, Roland Halleck; three brothers; and two sisters.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 10 a.m. (CDT) at Fair Oaks Cemetery in Fair Oaks, IN. Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer is handling the arrangements. Share memories and condolences online at www.SteinkeFuneralHome.com.
