Obituary for Lawrence L. Fisher

Lawrence L. Fisher, 53, of Rensselaer, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East. He was born in Valparaiso on September 3, 1963 to the late Larry L. and Cynthia (Whitten) Fisher. He attended school in Rensselaer and was a lifelong area resident. He worked in the kitchen at the Rensselaer Care Center for many years, and was a caterer for Devon’s Family Restaurant for 10 years.

On September 18, 2015 Lawrence married Kim Fisher of Rensselaer. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Matthew Hunter Fisher, at home, siblings: Barbara (Robert) Gonczy of Morocco, Lillian Delaney of Rensselaer, Carolyn Ray of Brook, Robert (Linda) Davis of Minnesota, Sherry Fisher of Lake Station, and half-brother Glenn of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by: his parents and his adoptive mother, Kathryn McIlvain.

Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery at a later date. Memorials can be made to the family. Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer is handling the arrangements. Share memories and condolences online at www.SteinkeFuneralHome.com.
