Condolence: I am so proud to say that I recruited Dave to play with the Lafayette Spinners Wheelchair Basketball Team. Marlene played for a women's softball team that I coached. Dave would come to the softball games to support Marlene. We set together several games when one hot day in August he came with shorts on! I looked down and saw his artificial legs. I had already played several years with the Spinner, but looked at him and said "We have to talk". He later told me that even after he agreed to come to a Spinner practice, he had already made his mind up that he was not going to play wheelchair ball. So after a career of 30 years, many MVP seasons and became one of the all time best players I ever saw, I still loved him like a brother. RIP Big Guy!
