Obituary for Rev. Royal H. Voeller

Rev. Royal H. Voeller, 87, of Morocco, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Harvard, IL on October 20, 1929, son of William and Dorothy (Bruner) Voeller. He attended the Harvard Public Schools and went on to serve in the U.S. Army during WWII, serving a tour of duty in Japan.

On June 8, 1949, in Dubuque, IA he married the love of his life, Erma J. Kazort. They enjoyed 57 wonderful years together. She preceded him in death on December 22, 2006.

Rev. Voeller earned his master’s degree from North Central Bible Institute in Minneapolis, MN in 1961. A kind, gentle man, he was the loving and faithful pastor at the EUB Methodist Church in Morocco for many years. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, riding ATVs and ice fishing.

He is survived by his loving family: two sons, Howard (Susan) Voeller of Bass Springs, TN and Timothy Voeller of Morocco; three daughters: Cindy Sell of Lafayette, Rhonda (Benny) Quisenberry of Lake Village, and Jennifer Bower of Morocco; 17 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife Erma; two brothers; and one sister.

Visitation will be Monday, January 16, 2017 from 2-6 p.m. (CST) at the EUB Methodist Church, located at 214 E. Walnut St. in Morocco. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the EUB Methodist Church with Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
