Obituary for Pearl Denham (Sargent)

Pearl Denham, 96, of Morocco passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016. She was born September 3, 1920 the daughter of Frank and Mahala Sargent.

On May 31, 1943 she married William Scott Denham. Together they farmed, raised their family, and enjoyed going to church camp and the Lowell auctions. Pearl’s gift was working with her hands. She loved cooking and canning, working in the garden and tending her flowers, and making beautiful designs quilting. In her quiet time you would find her with her puzzle books and listening to Southern Gospel music.

In Pearl’s earlier years she enjoyed serving as a Sunday school teacher. She loved her children and the generations to follow. She was always willing to help family or friends in need, with whatever means she had. Pearl lived life with her passion being Jesus Christ; her strong faith carried her to the end.

Preceded in death was her husband William Scott Denham on May 14, 1992. Pearl is survived by her six children; Paul (Brenda) Denham of Rensselaer, James (Nancy) Denham of Griffith, John (Cathy) Denham of DeMotte, Sarah (Archie Sr) Reagan of Morocco, Thomas Denham of Walkerton, and Ruth (Daney) Ferguson of Gary. Pearl is also survived by her 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation and funeral will be Friday, December 16, 2016 with visitation from 12 noon – 2:00 p.m. (CST) and the funeral at 2:00 p.m. Services will be held at The River Church, 503 East Beaver Street, Morocco with Pastor John Fuller officiating. Interment will follow at North Star Cemetery. The River Church will graciously support the family and friends with lunch at the church.
