Obituary for Kathalee Joy Hall

Kathalee Joy  Hall
Kathalee Joy Hall, 68 of Rensselaer, Indiana went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016. She was born in Decatur, Indiana on April 15, 1948, the daughter of Mable (Gould) Ehrsam and the late Glenn “Mike” Ehrsam. She graduated from Adams Central High School in Monroe, Indiana with the class of 1966. She went on to attend Indiana University in Bloomington and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science in 1970. Her first marriage was to Kenneth Mills of Winchester, Indiana. They had two sons, Aaron and Michael.

Kathalee was very compassionate and she loved helping others. She worked as a caseworker for the Marion County Welfare Department and as director of the Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services. She served as director of the Church in Mission, a cooperative effort of Mooresville, Indiana area churches and people to provide food, clothing and other necessities to those in need. For her efforts, she was named Mooresvillian of the Year in 1991.

Kathalee’s second marriage was to Robert Hall of Rensselaer. They were married in Mooresville, Indiana on August 30, 2003. Kathalee was an active member of Tri-County Bible Church in Rensselaer for many years. She served as an AWANA leader and was involved in the youth ministry. She enjoyed being active, working out, walking and rollerblading. She enjoyed traveling with her friend Jan with her favorite trip being their trip to Israel, studying her Bible, reading, puzzles, and spending time with her family.

Kathalee is survived by her loving husband, Robert Hall of Rensselaer; two sons, Aaron (Maria) Mills of Hudson, OH and Michael Mills of Evans, CO; three step-sons: Rob (Michelle) Hall of Lafayette, IN, Rick (Kathy) Hall of Remington, IN, and Ryan (Erica) Hall of Aldie, VA; two grandchildren, Alaina and Mia Kathalee Mills; eight step-grandchildren: Andrew, Justin, Summer, Kaia, Tatum, and Emory Hall, Ashley (Jeff) Sheedy, and Amber (Jesse) Rayburn; two step-great-grandchildren, Sawyer Rayburn and Rylie Sheedy; her mother, Mable Ehrsam; two brothers, Steve (Darlene) Ehrsam of Coldwater, MI and Michael “Tony” Ehrsam of Kissee Mills, MO. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Joel Bradley Ehrsam.

Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 25, 2016 from 3-8 p.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home, 403 N. Front St., Rensselaer, IN 47978. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Tri-County Bible Church, 5856 W. 1050 S, Rensselaer, IN 47978. Pastor Andy Majorins officiating. Visitation from 9 a.m. until time of service. Interment will follow at Weston Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to: The Upside of Downs, the Indiana University Foundation – Parkinson’s Research, or Tri-County Bible Church.
