Obituary for Charles D. Watson

Charles D.   Watson
Charles D. Watson, 75, of Morocco, passed away at his home on Thursday, May 5, 2016. He was born in Crittenden County, Kentucky on June 5, 1940, son of the late Orvel Watson and Cassie Dean (Belt) Watson. On September 22, 1962, in Morocco, he married Linda J. (Sargent) Watson.

Charles was a laborer for Local #41 Labor Union for 50 years. He built many types of commercial buildings around northwest Indiana, including schools, hospitals and factories. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. He had a great sense of humor and will be remembered for joking around with his family and friends. He enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and mowing his lawn. He liked working in his garage, working on small motors and fixing bicycles. He had a talent for making horse collar mirrors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time with his family.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of almost 54 years, Linda Watson; son Richard Watson; daughter Shelia (Johnny) Robinson; three grandchildren: Jonathan (Chelsea) Watson, Brently Watson, and Kegan Watson; three great-granddaughters: Caydence, Taylor, and Kylie Watson; and brother Gary (Sara) Watson. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Orvel and Cassie Dean Watson; one brother, Paul Watson; and two sisters, Wanda Shell and Betty Martin.

Visitation will be Monday, May 9, 2016 from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the Morocco Community Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Morocco Community Center with Pastor Rick Helton officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
