Florence Storey, 99, of Morocco, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Rensselaer Care Center. She was born in Parkston, South Dakota on March 2, 1917, daughter of the late Frank and Amelia (Braatz) Mashino. She graduated from Morocco High School with the class of 1935. On June 1, 1935, in Morocco, she married Milton D. Storey. He preceded her in death on October 25, 1985.
Florence was a homemaker and bookkeeper for her husband’s business, Milt Storey Implement Company, retiring in 1979. She was a member of the Morocco First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Pythian Sisters, and Projects Unlimited. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, crocheting, reading, playing cards, baking pies, and spending time with her family.
Florence is survived by her loving family: son Jack (Bonnie) Storey; daughter Shirley (Dennis) Deardurff; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Frank and Amelia Mashino; husband Milton Storey; daughter Peg LaCosse; an infant son; and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be Monday, May 9, 2016 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Morocco First United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 12 p.m. at the Morocco First United Methodist Church with Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
