Obituary for Phillip Coleman

Phillip  Coleman
Phillip Coleman, 75, of Goodland, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Franciscan Health Rensselaer. He was born in Phelps, Kentucky on October 14, 1940, son of the late Thomas Coleman and Winnie (Blankenship) Coleman. Phillip grew up in Kentucky and graduated from Phelps High School. He attended community college to study to be an electrician. He worked in the coal mines of Kentucky as an electrician for several years. He moved to Indiana 24 years ago. On November 21, 1993, in Remington, he married Thresa Oliver.

Phillip worked as a self-employed truck driver for almost 40 years, driving all over the United States. He retired in 2007. After retirement, he enjoyed fishing, working on his cars and trucks, and piddling around. He enjoyed spending time with his family and he never met a stranger. He was a member of Victorious Life Assembly of God in Remington.

Phillip is survived by his loving wife, Thresa Coleman; eleven children: P.D. Coleman, Craig Coleman, Darrin Coleman, Lisa Daniels (husband: Howard), Kimberly Fonner (husband: Mike), David Oliver (wife: Carrie), Christopher Coleman, Shaunda Fish, Jason Cadwallader, Scott Cadwallader (wife: Krystal), and Jodi Rausch (husband: Jerry); 24 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchilren; and one sister, Helen Fitzgerald (husband: Jim). He was preceded in death by: his parents and one brother.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. (CDT) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 12 p.m. (CDT) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer with Pastor Melvin Lane officiating. Memorials are suggested to the family.
