Obituary for Eduardo "Ed" Reyes

Eduardo "Ed"  Reyes
Eduardo “Ed” Reyes, 52, of Rensselaer, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 surrounded by his two sons, his father, his brothers and sisters, and close family and friends. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on August 15, 1962 to Enrique “Henry” Reyes, Sr. and the late Rosa (Saucedo) Reyes.

Ed worked as a welder for Vanguard National Trailer Corporation in Monon. He had previously been employed by: Cives Steel, Chief Industries, Talbert Manufacturing, Monon Trailer, Wabash National and Sealy Spring. He was a member of the Rensselaer Eagles Lodge #2548. Ed was a big Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed cornhole, darts, barstool golf, playing pool, and just spending time with his friends, his best friend Nick McDonald and his dog CoCo.

Ed is survived by his loving family: three sons: Miles Reyes (girlfriend: Christiana Heath) of Rensselaer, Ryan Huff (girlfriend: Christina) of Goshen, Indiana and Chad Hammond (wife: Liz) of Rensselaer; one daughter, Megan Shupe (husband: Rick) of Mt. Ayr; nine grandchildren: Sophia Marie and Ryder Lee Reyes; Ricky, Erin, Bailey and Izzy Shupe; Bryson Hammond; September Huff and Jaxon Huff; two brothers: Henry Reyes, Jr. (wife: Liz) of Little Rock, Arkansas and Ernie Reyes (wife: Connie) of Rensselaer; four sisters: Herlinda Teach (husband: Steve) of Rensselaer, Estella Perez of Chicago, Illinois, Elodia “Lolly” Bruce (husband: Wilbur) of Rensselaer and Elaine Gembala of Rensselaer; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his mother, Rosa (Saucedo) Reyes.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. A memorial service for Ed will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer with Deacon Pat Williamson and Pastor Rein Bontreger officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a the home of Steve and Herlinda Teach for lunch following interment.
