Obituary for James T. Geesa

James T.  Geesa
James T. Geesa, 66, of Morocco, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015. He was born in Rensselaer on September 22, 1948, son of the late Orval and Mary (Atwood) Geesa.

He graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1966 and Indiana State University in 1970. James served his country in the United States Air Force from 1970 to 1978. He was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.

James played the trumpet in his high school band, he was an avid reader, enjoyed watching sports and he loved watching his granddaughter’s sports. James was involved with the Masonic Lodge of Morocco and the American Legion.
Friends were very important to him, especially the dear ones at the Hilltop.

He is survived by his loving family: daughter, Mary (Blane) Holland of Peru; two grandchildren: Layla and Tessa of Peru; three brothers; Roy (Susie) Geesa of Indianapolis, Ben (Penny) Geesa of Mount Ayr, and Ed (Marie) White of Rensselaer.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife Cathy, wife Patty, wife Helen; and two sisters.

Friends may call on Monday, May 18, 2015 from 3-7 p.m. (CDT) at Steinke Funeral Home of Morocco. A Masonic Service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. (CDT) at Steinke Funeral Home of Morocco with Pastor Edwin Bontreger officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at North Star Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Newton County Community Services and Indiana Veterans Home in Lafayette.
