Obituary for William A. Cain

William  A.  Cain
William A. Cain, 79, of Rensselaer, passed away Tuesday , March 3, 2015. He was born on January 9, 1936 to the late William Ivan and Avinell Emma (Medley) Cain. On November 6, 1966 he married Eleanor (Rose) Atherton.

William served his country in the U.S. Army. He was an operating engineer, Local 150, and worked for Gray Corporation for 35 years. He enjoyed the Cubs, Bears, traveling, camping, Nascar, and especially Dale Earnhardt.

William is survived by his loving family: wife Eleanor Cain of Rensselaer; children: William (Kathryn) Cain of Plaserville, California, Kim Nyberg of Plaserville, California, Robert A. (Teresa) Cain of Rensselaer; step children: Carla Jean Doxtater of St. Petersburg, FL., Carolyn Joan Atherton of Ottawa, IL., Jacqueline Sue Atherton of Daytona, FL., Jonnie Kay (John) Schultz of Donovan, IL.; brothers: Sam (Robie) Cain of Ocala, FL., Ron (Jane) Cain of Remington; Twenty grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two-and a half great great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 3-7:00 p.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplain Jonnie Kay Schultz and Chaplain Rob Dorow officiating. Interment will follow at Weston Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials are suggested to Jasper County Animal Shelter or Harbor Light Hospice.
