Obituary for Edward Eugene "Bud" Corbin Sr.

Edward Eugene “Bud” Corbin, Sr., 78, of Rensselaer, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014 at the Rensselaer Care Center. He was born in Francesville on Feb. 21, 1936, the son of the late Harrel Kenneth Corbin and Elizabeth Ellen (Popp) Corbin. Bud attended school in south Barkley Township and graduated from Wheatfield High School with the class of 1954. He was a lifetime Jasper County resident.

On April 4, 1959, Bud married his wife of 55 years, Sharron Anne (Lonergan) Corbin. He served in the National Guard for 6 years. He was a member of the Rensselaer Church of the Nazarene and the Rensselaer Moose Lodge. Bud was a farmer and he worked for the Indiana Dept. of Transportation for 23 years, retiring in 2001. He loved life on the farm and caring for his livestock, as well as dogs, cats and horses. He enjoyed horseback riding and was a former member of the Jasper County Riding Posse, and he enjoyed camping.

Bud is survived by his loving family: wife Sharron Corbin of Rensselaer; two sons: Edward Eugene Corbin, Jr. (Mercedes) of Lafayette and William Stephen Corbin (Barbara M.) of Rensselaer; three grandchildren: Ryann Foulks (Jim) of Goodland, Tara Santiago (Alicia) of Francesville and Nick Corbett of Lafayette; and six great grandchildren.

Friends may call on Friday, Dec. 26, 2014 from 10 a.m. until noon (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 26, 2014 at noon at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer with Pastor Lisa Ulrich officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Rensselaer Church of the Nazarene, Jasper County Hospital Home Health Care & Hospice or the Rensselaer Moose Lodge.
