Obituary for Lyman Stone
Lyman Stone, 81, of Gifford, passed away Friday evening, Nov. 14, 2014 at the Rensselaer Care Center. He was born in Decoy, Kentucky on Feb. 28, 1933, son of the late Adam and Rhoda (Stevens) Stone.
Lyman attended school in Parr. His marriage was to the late Emma Sue (Davis) Stone. He was a care crane operator for General American Transportation Corporation for 27 years. He also had worked for Gehring Farms and Curtis Creek Country Club.
Lyman is survived by four brothers: Claud (Omy) Stone of Salyersville, Kentucky, Jeral (Patty) Stone of Wheatfield, Ernie (Susie) Stone of Goodland, and Irvin (Sue) Stone of Gifford; two sisters: Edzyne Wireman of West Lafayette and Maglene Grieger of LaCross. He was preceded in death by: his parents, his wife, eight brothers and one sister.
Per Lyman’s wishes, cremation will take place and interment will take place at Prater Cemetery at a later date. Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer is assisting the family. Share memories and condolences online at www.SteinkeFuneralHome.com.
