Obituary for Frank Edwin Quasebarth

Frank Edwin Quasebarth, 77, of North Fort Myers, FL, passed away Friday afternoon, Oct. 3, 2014 at his daughter’s home in Rensselaer. He was born in Monon on Feb. 9, 1937, son of the late Louis Fred Quasebarth and Mary Margaret (Lee) Quasebarth. On Feb. 19, 1955, in St. John, IN, he married Mary Alice Collins. She preceded him in death in 2006.

Frank was a veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Army. He was an elevator installer for Long Elevator Company in Chicago, retiring in 2004. He was affiliated with St. James Catholic Church in Reynolds. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Shriners, and the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed golfing, attending flea markets and auctions, playing darts, gambling and working on mowers.

Frank is survived by his loving family: companion Arleen Hill of North Fort Myers, FL; one son, Frank, Jr. (Ellen) Quasebarth of Reynolds; three daughters: Sherry (Steve) Sproles of Brookston, Alice (Doug)Whitaker of Battleground, and Margaret (Tom) Kennedy of Rensselaer; one brother, John (Donna) Quasebarth of Monticello; two sisters, Sally Binford and Marylyn Schuitema, both of Cedar Lake; grandchildren: Kelly (Tim) Payne of Battleground, Kylee (Eric) Houser of Monticello, Jason (Julie) Foust of Goodland, Nicole (Billy) Schroeder of Reynolds, Ashley (James) Jones of Battleground, Bryant (Jaynie) Whitaker of Brookston, Amy Quasebarth of Rensselaer, Megan Quasebarth and Aaron Quasebarth, both of Reynolds, Jesse (Amanda) Kennedy of Lafayette, Tommy Kennedy of West Lafayette, and Amanda Kennedy of Rensselaer; great grandchildren: Cyrus, Dalton and Corbin Payne; Brayden, Kamden and Eelin Houser; Carter Kennedy; Makayla, Makenzie, Mason and Megan Schroeder; David and Olivia Foust; Brinley and Kambrie Jones; and Mia Whitaker. He was preceded in death by: his parents, his wife, and ten siblings.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014 from 3-7 p.m. (CDT) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. A Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. (CDT) at Steinke Funeral of Rensselaer, with Chaplain Bob Rawlins officiating.
