Obituary for Lyle Joseph Webb

Lyle Joseph Webb, 71, of Rensselaer, passed away Monday evening, July 28, 2014 at his home. He was born in Lancaster, PA July 21, 1943, the son of Ellamae Williams and the late Victor Sexton Webb. He had been a resident of Rensselaer since 1964.

On Oct. 15, 1961, in Morocco, he married Mary E. Sargent. Lyle served his Country in the U.S. Army. He worked in the service department for Brooks Motor Sales in Rensselaer for over 30 years. After his retirement, he worked in maintenance for five years at Kentucky Fried Chicken. He was a member of American Legion Post #29 and 40 & 8. He enjoyed racing and fishing.

Lyle is survived by his loving family: wife Mary E. Webb of Rensselaer; one son, Lyle (Unsil) Webb of Rensselaer; four daughters: Jo Skaggs of Joliet, IL, Betty (David) Wilson of Howe, TX, Laura (Chris) Long of Indianapolis, IN, and Dana (Larry) Lock of Monterey, IN; his mother, Ellamae Williams of Goodland; one brother, Duane (Monica) Webb of Reno, NV; one sister, Jane (Jim) Cox of Fair Oaks; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his father; one brother; one half-brother; and one grandchild.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Oakland Cemetery with Pastor Philip Leichty officiating. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Burr Oak Mennonite Church. Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer is handling the arrangements.
