Obituary for Linda S. Fleming

Linda S. Fleming, 72, of rural Rensselaer, passed away early Friday morning, May 23, 2014 at her home. She was born in Rensselaer on Dec. 20, 1941, daughter of the late Charles and Dora (Schultz) James. She was a lifelong area resident. On May 26, 1959 in Rensselaer she married Jack Fleming. Linda was a caregiver for the elderly. She enjoyed gardening, watching Dancing With The Stars on TV and spending time with her grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her loving family: husband Jack Fleming of Rensselaer; two sons: Tyler Fleming (wife: Tina) of Lafayette and Monte Fleming (wife: Mel) of CA; five sisters: Jane Hullings, Rita Joyce Chandler, Connie Wilkerson (huband: Dave), Cheryl Wright (husband: Matthew), Regina Liebo, all of Rensselaer, and sister-in-laws; Pat James of Morocco and Bonnie James of Rensselaer; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; two brothers: Paul and Rex; two infant brothers; and one brother-in-law.

Friends may call on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 1-3 p.m. (CDT) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer with Pastor James Dougans officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Weston Cemetery.
