Obituary for Forest Tanner

Forest A. Tanner, 59, of Bloomington, IN, formerly of Rensselaer, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes, April 10th in Spencer, IN. while visiting McCormick’s Creek State Park, a favorite place of his for many years. Forest was born in Rensselaer April 4, 1951, a son of Phyllis L. Tanner and the late Robert K. Tanner of Rensselaer. Forest graduated from Rensselaer High School with the Class of 1969 and attended Indiana University in Bloomington. He fell in love with the Southern Indiana hills and made his home in Bloomington since the early 1970’s. While in school he was very good at writing poetry and loved the “great outdoors”. He had been employed for many years with P.T.S. Electrical Service in Bloomington. Surviving are his mother, Phyllis of Rensselaer, sister, Christine “Chris” Betts (Mrs. Michael) of Wheatfield, and nephews, Joshua & Jacob Betts. His father preceded him in death. Cremation was chosen by his family. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
