Marjorie L. Vandenburgh, 79, of Monon, passed away early Sunday morning, October 7, 2012 at Jasper County Hospital. She was born in East Chicago on May 10, 1933, daughter of the late James and Irene (Rogers) Harshbarger. On October 1, 1965 she married the late Eugene Vandenburgh. Marjorie had been a factory worker and had also been a custodian at St. Joseph’s College. She enjoyed cooking, canning and gardening.

Marjorie is survived by two children, Clay Andrew Melton of Westville and Dawn (Robert) Lewis of Monon; a sister, Lorraine Sutton of Illinois; five grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Robert Allen Melton, and a daughter, Lorraine Irene Lunsford.

Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer is handling the arrangements. Private family services will be held at a later date.
