Obituary for Minnie Zacher

Minnie L. Zacher, 95, of Rensselaer, passed away Wednesday morning, November 14, 2012 at George Ade Memorial Health Care Center. A lifelong Jasper County resident, Minnie was born January 1, 1917, daughter of the late Alfred and Cora (Blaze) Bisher.

On June 27, 1938, Minnie married Cecil J. Zacher. He preceded her in death on January 22, 1999. Minnie was a homemaker and helped her husband on the family farm. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and she was a wonderful cook. She was a very active member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Rensselaer.

Minnie is survived by her son, Cecil W. Zacher (Josie) of Rensselaer; granddaughter Elizabeth Ann Schieda (David) of Rockton, IL; grandson David Zacher (Natalie) of Rensselaer; great-grandson Erik Schieda of Rockton, IL; three great-granddaughters, Emily Schieda of Rockton, IL and Lily Sue and Josie Jane Zacher of Rensselaer; one sister, Velva Tweedie of Illinois; and special nephew James Zacher (Diana) of Rensselaer. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Minnie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Cecil; three brothers; and two sisters.

Friends may call on Saturday, November 17, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer with Pastor John Hostetter officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Trinity United Methodist Church.
